Graham's Integrity Auto Sales sponsors VVCC car signs
VVCC thanks Graham's Integrity Auto Sales for sponsoring magnetic car signs for volunteers who drive an incredible number of miles to get our neighbors to their medical appointments and important errands.
"Road Warrior" volunteer Bill Macuri, shows off his car sign. Bill was recognized during VVCC's April 20 Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon for driving 23,000 miles and providing 2,600 hours of service last year.
Because many of our volunteers are vacationing, we currently have a great need for volunteer drivers. Please call us at (928) 204-1238 if you or a friend are interested. We work around your schedule.
VVCC neighbor enjoys her friendly visits
"They're great," said Wilma, 77, about the volunteers and numerous programs Verde Valley Caregivers offers. Wilma became a VVCC neighbor about eight years ago when she became ill and needed help.
"I found VVCC through Christian Care. I saw a pamphlet and called." Wilma now counts on VVCC volunteers to take her to doctors appointments, mail packages, make friendly phone calls, and on occasion, find herself out and around town. "My birthday is December 26, and on that day last year volunteer Becca Tokarczyk picked me up and took me out."
Dog-gone good day at work
In honor of Bring Your Dog to Work Day, VVCC employees' dogs helped at the One-Call Center. Henry, Sonny, Sugar, Lucy, and Boxcar Willie enjoyed running the office--figuratively. It's been a dog-gone good week here at Verde Valley Caregivers.
Just as pets are important to us, they're also important to our neighbors. VVCC offers pet care services through its Pets Count Too! Program, funded by Bandfield Charitable Trust, including dog walking, pet sitting, emergency pet boarding due to hospitalization, and veterinary services, pet food and supplies for low income neighbors.

Volunteers especially needed for summer
Now that summer is in full swing, VVCC is looking for volunteers to help the older adults we serve.
"During this time we lose 45% of our volunteers because they are on vacation... we need volunteers in every category," Operations and Mobility Manager Kim Meller says.
Our amazing volunteers help our neighbors through friendly visits, phone calls, grocery shopping, pet care, and more. You pick when and how often!
VVCC's Silver Linings Thrift Shop is also in need of a volunteer or volunteer team for Fridays. At Silver Linings, volunteers provide customer service, cashiering and arrange merchandise.
To volunteer call Kim Meller, operations and mobility manager at (928) 204-1238 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
